Our Story
Atlanta Rug Cleaning & Restoration has been providing rug cleaning, repair, and restoration in the Atlanta area since 1972.
Darious, our founder, arrived in the United States from Isfahan, Iran and established his first Oriental and Persian rug store in Falls Church, Virginia. In 1972 he moved his operations to Atlanta, Georgia. From 1972 through 2008, Darious operated many different rug and furniture businesses throughout Atlanta — with his flagship Persian and Oriental rug store, Werco, sitting on the corner of Peachtree and Piedmont.
In 2008, Darious made a deliberate decision to shift his focus from retail rug sales to specializing in helping rug owners care for their new and antique rugs. Over his roughly 50 years in the retail business, he witnessed both the industry and the consumer market change. Handmade rugs were being displaced by lower-cost machine-made options — and the art of caring for handmade rugs, always a passion, became the heart of what Atlanta Rug Cleaning & Restoration does today.
Over five decades, Darious has helped tens of thousands of customers care for, preserve, and restore their one-of-a-kind investments. Our cleaning operation runs out of two warehouse locations — our flagship facility in Chamblee, GA and an additional cleaning facility in Roswell, GA. All operations are overseen directly by Darious, using modern equipment, cleaning compounds, and tools to ensure that your unique rug gets the care it deserves.
